Roberto Peccei, former Vice Chancellor for Research and Professor of Physics, UCLA
Roberto Peccei (1942-2020) was former Vice Chancellor for Research at the University of California Los Angeles, a position he held from 2000-2010. Dr. Steve has known him since 1997 when they worked together at UCLA.  He is a particle theorist whose principal interests lie in the area of electroweak interactions and in the interface between particle physics and physical cosmology.  The son of Aurelio Peccei, founder of the Club of Rome, Roberto Peccei obtained a B.S. from MIT in 1962, and M.S. from New York University (NYU) in 1964 and a Ph.D. from MIT in 1969. He joined the faculty of Stanford University in 1971, where (with Helen Quinn) he originated Peccei–Quinn theory, still the most famous proposed solution to the strong CP problem, one of the most unsolved problem in Physics.  In 1978, he returned to Europe as a staff member of the Max Planck Institute in Munich, Germany. He joined the Deutsches Elektron Synchrotron (DESY) Laboratory in Hamburg, Germany, as the Head of the Theoretical Group in 1984. He returned to the United States in 1989, joining the faculty of the Department of Physics at UCLA. Soon thereafter, he became Chair of the Department, a position he held until becoming Dean of the Division of Physical Sciences of the College of Letters and Sciences in November, 1993. Read more
Chuck Dages, former EVP Warner Bros., Chairman of the Board of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences
Chuck has been instrumental in redefining traditional entertainment industries in film, television and games, and creating new businesses in digital technologies while working with the talent which has driven epic movies such as Harry Potter, The Hobbit, Inception, Matrix, and many others. Chuck has been instrumental in redefining traditional entertainment industries in film, television and games, and creating new businesses in digital technologies while working with the talent which has driven epic movies such as Harry Potter, The Hobbit, Inception, Matrix, and many others.  He has known Dr. Steve for approximately 20 years. They have collaborated on several innovative educational and technology projects across many diverse fields of media including film, television,music, and games. Steve and Chuck also worked closely on a variety of high impact valued add technology transfer projects. Of note, Drs. Steven and Anne Berman worked together with Chuck Dages and Warner Bros. in building a University of California Systemwide (9 (now 10) campuses and three national labs) industry-university-government research program known as the UC DiMI. This research program focused on launching and growing cutting edge technologies across the digital media domain ranging from innovations such as distributed computing, drug discovery, security/encryption software and hardware, precision agriculture, 21st Century medical technologies including robotics surgery and electronic medical records, advanced communications, distributed education, as well as developing the Next Generation work force. Chuck's support on the UC DiMI advisory board, the program generated $100 million in research grants contributing more than $300 million to California's economy. Through Chuck's unique understanding of next generation work force needs, innovation and creativity and dedication to advancing education at all levels, his contributions to DIGIVATIONS will enhance the growth of the organization and its ability to transform education and the lives of students, educators and professionals throughout North America and globally.
Hassan Miah, Co-Founder, Chairman and EVP, Business Development, One Llama Labs, Inc.,
Hassan is the Co-Founder, Chairman and EVP, Business Development of One Llama Labs, Inc., an acoustic Artificial Intelligence platform based on Machine Learning. He previously started and was Chief Executive Officer of UrFilez a digital music company focused on the emerging markets. Miah was previously a Managing Director leading digital media investments at Intel Capital. Miah was the Chief Executive Officer of Xing Technology, the first consumer MP3 recording software company, which he later sold to RealNetworks for $75 million. Dr. Steve met Hassan Miah more then 24 years ago when Miah was the department head of New Media at Hollywood’s largest talent agency, Creative Artists Agency (CAA), where Miah established the CAA/Intel Media Lab. Additionally, Miah was part of the CAA team that created the first large scale investment in TV started by three telecommunication companies.

Prior to CAA, Miah was a Management Consulting Partner at KPMG. While at CAA and KPMG, Miah was intimately involved in developing the business plans of major entertainment companies, music companies, and high profile actors, directors, writers and producers.

Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, he is a certified public accountant and received an undergraduate business degree from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
John Nordlinger, (1963-2017) MFA Writer and Producer
