SCHOOL RESIDENCIES
DIGIVATIONS™ collaborates with both formal and informal K-12 educators and administrators to design lesson plans and projects which extend
what is being taught in the classroom (Provincial and State Standards) while addressing any
gaps in those subjects areas. We invigorate schools' standards-based curriculum creating both conceptual and problem-based learning experiences to develop students' skills in scientific literacy required to address future challenges and employment opportunities.
We facilitate one day to year-long residencies
during your school day so that students can broaden their understanding of STEM through classes which integrate subjects on a multdisciplinary basis. This includes exposure to the arts, philosophy, history, literature (including science fiction writers such as Jules Verne), film, creative writing (storyboards), drama, and music within the context of science. We bring various hands-on instructional materials into the classroom including, robotics, science kits, computer software (game development), digital music software and LEGO, especially LEGO Serious Play.
Ideally, long-term residencies would involve two to five teachers who would take
part in both DIGIVATIONS led professional development and classroom/student workshops. This residency assumes no prior knowledge of our methodology. After an introductory session, we work with teachers and
students in the classroom to experience the practical hands on
application of DIGIVATIONS methodology.
